Our Story

The Somersalt Story

To paraphrase Huey Lewis, we wanted a new drink.  One that won’t make us sick, one that won’t make us crash our car, one that won’t make us feel three feet thick, one that won’t hurt our head, one that won’t make us nervous, one that won’t keep us up at night, one that won’t make us sleep all day, one that won’t make us talk too much.   

There were No/Low Alcohol options out there, but none of them quite scratched that itch.  They either had odd esoteric flavors, snake oil additives, or tasted like that grape soda our kids try to sneak at the movies.  We wanted something that tasted like an actual cocktail.  Is it really that hard to make something taste like a margarita? Or a mint julep?  Something that was delicious, refreshing and tricked our brain into thinking we were having a proper drink.  

We come from a booze background and thought this wouldn’t be too heavy of lift to get something that checked these boxes. We were wrong.  After an exhaustive team effort covering five states and two continents and more years than we care to admit, we finally fit a square peg into a round hole.  

We haven’t totally stopped drinking, but with Somersalt, we sure the hell are drinking less.  We have our new drink and, hopefully, you do too.
